What is the utility of cheerleaders? Do they really lead cheers? Or is there something more primal about watching attractive women dancing in front of a sports spectacle? I mean, really, what is this all about?
Back in college we formed up intramural football squads. One day my fraternity played against the guys from Lander Dorm. We looked across the field and saw some girls had come with the Dormy’s, but they were not leading cheers. They were just standing around.
Still my roommate turned to me and said “if we win we get their women.”
