So what is this all about anyway? Is it that we are tasked with scurrying about on this planet to collect and amass the greatest collection of marvelous objects, or cash, or both? And then what? Is there some zenith of acquisition where one finds peace? Is it that the one who dies with the most toys wins? You cannot take it with you.
Or is that the wrong direction altogether? Is there some inner world in which a man finds peace?
This photo was taken last Christmas eve as we walked into Blessed Sacrament parish in the snow. Gently cascading flakes made the world anew. A grace filled the air and restored a sense of wonder.
What we found at church was not for sale. It is instead free. One only has to look and listen, think, and walk the path. And after a time you recognize nothing else really matters.
