You Can’t Take It With You; Living along De Nile

Perhaps the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt gave us the term “denial” as they lived next to “De Nile”. Think Tutankhamen and how he tried to take it with him.

Many are in “De Nile” that there is a date upon which we simply leave this earth and all we have accumulated behind. Sorry, no exemptions.

I have had the experience of a long time client finally making that appointment to discuss his will for a distant Monday, then reading his obituary the Sunday before we were to meet.

The lack of a will did not mean his goods went with him, they simply went according to statute to his children. No such statute apparently existed in ancient Egypt, as we discovered all King Tut’s stuff well after the kids had grown and gone.
